Privacy Policy
Goodwhile is designed so that your data stays on your phone. This policy explains the little that leaves it, and why.
What stays on your device
- Your promises — the apps and websites you choose, durations, strictness, names, and history are stored only on your device (and in your device backups, which you control).
- Your app selections — Goodwhile uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) technology. Apple designed it so that apps like Goodwhile receive only opaque tokens for the apps you pick. We never see, store, or transmit a readable list of your apps, and neither the tokens nor anything derived from them ever leaves your device.
- Usage and stats — days kept, time given back, and onboarding answers are stored only on your device.
What leaves your device
- Purchase data. If you subscribe to Goodwhile Pro or buy a lifetime unlock, the purchase is processed by Apple, and receipt validation is handled by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase/receipt information — never your name, email, or anything about your promises or apps. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
That's the whole list. Goodwhile has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no ads, no tracking, and no server of its own.
Screen Time data
Device and usage information accessed through the Family Controls framework is used solely to shield the apps you chose for the time you chose, and is never shared with anyone, used for advertising, or provided to data brokers.
Children
Goodwhile is a self-management tool for individuals managing their own devices. It is not directed at children and includes no parental-control features.
Your choices
- Deleting the app deletes all promise data stored on your device.
- You can revoke Screen Time permission at any time in Settings; active promises then end.
- Subscriptions are managed and cancelled through your Apple account settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
