FlipSift is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, no third-party trackers, and no tracking of any kind.
When you scan an item, the app sends the photos you took, the asking price and note you entered, and your selling-platform preference to our appraisal server, which forwards them to Anthropic's AI API to generate the appraisal. This is the app's core function and happens only when you initiate a scan.
Requests include a random device identifier (a UUID generated on first launch) used only to enforce a daily scan limit. It is not linked to you and identifies no personal information.
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Subscription status and receipt validation are handled by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider, which receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase information — never your name, email, or anything else about you. To understand which features are used, the app sends a small set of anonymous usage events (for example “scan completed” or “paywall viewed”) to our own server, tagged with a random identifier created on your device. This identifier is not connected to your name, Apple Account, or anything that identifies you, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. No third-party analytics SDKs are involved, and this data is never sold or shared.
The camera and photo library are used only to capture the item you're scanning. Photos stay on your device except when sent for appraisal as described above.
FlipSift is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
