- The service. Bookplate helps you convert verified reading of physical books into timed access to apps you chose to shield, and to build a record of finished books. Verification is heuristic: it establishes that a photo plausibly shows a printed book page, not that any particular page was read.
- Purchases. Bookplate Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription ($29.99/year or $3.99/week) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($49.99), billed through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. The lifetime purchase never renews. Your first 7 days include the full feature set at no charge — no payment method is collected and nothing converts automatically.
- Fair use. Don't attempt to defeat verification or abuse the question service. We may rate-limit requests.
- Screen Time. Shielding uses Apple's Family Controls. Apple may change these APIs; shielding behavior can be affected by iOS settings, Screen Time passcodes, or authorization revocation.
- Content. Book metadata and covers come from Open Library and belong to their respective rights holders.
- No warranty. The app is provided as-is; we're not liable for missed reading goals, blocked apps, or indirect damages to the extent permitted by law.
